Gateway House

Date: Spring 2020

Design Requirement:
  • Design a work and living space for a household of one to four dwellers
  • Consider the work-life habit changes after the worldwide isolation / quarantine

    The Gateway House is an idyllic compound that carefully balances space and distance to create an equilibrium between work and life, suited for the best and not-so-best of times. Separation between work (north building) and living (south building) is by a pergola-covered courtyard garden, creating a visual and physical filter between the two.
    Designed with intention and purpose, The House connects life, work, play, and refuge all in one meanwhile thoughtfully bridging the gap between solitude and serenity.
